hello

May Fair 2008

The 11th Annual May Fair was held on Saturday, May 17th. Thanks to all for making it a great day! If you are interested in becoming the new Mayfair Chairperson or want to join one of the committees, please send an email to the current May Fair Chair, Karen Hopfl Harris, @ karen@hopflharris.com

This is the park's biggest event of the year with pony rides, moon bounces, games, crafts, concessions and a whole day's worth of fun -- truly a great time for the whole family. It's such a great party, we even made the latest Washingtonian "Best Places to Live"! You have to see it to believe it.

This is a wonderful community event that has brought together over 1,500 neighbors each year. The money raised helps maintain the park we all love so much.

All of the ticket, merchandise and concession sales are put back into the Park. The new sand in the sandbox, the new trees, maintaining the equipment, upkeep for the Sprayground, even resurfacing the tennis courts - all of these and more are funded by Friends of Friendship Park.

We can't have this great event without you! Volunteers are needed to make this a terrific day. As we've done in the past with great success, we're asking that a member of each family who enjoys the pleasures of Turtle Park throughout the year, commit as little as two hours of your time to volunteer during the event. We need help selling tickets, helping with the games, passing out yummy baked goods -- there is something for everyone to do.

If you can donate a couple hours of your time on this special day, please contact one of our volunteer coordinators: Alexis Comrack (acomrack@gmail.com) and Jen Del Guercio (JDelGuercio@healthdialog.com).

And, we can't forget our sponsors. Their generosity each year is greatly appreciated. This year's sponsors so far include:
